One of the most mentioned retro albums on the Pure Energy social media channels is none other than Hi Impact 11!

Back in the day the Hi Impact series was one our most popular ranges, containing pop and dance chart hits with BPMs ranging right up to 157!

Hi Impact 11 was released on cassette tape and CD, with the BPMs starting at 138 and rocketing to 152, before dropping back down and finishing with a 10 minute MSE (or Muscular Strength and Endurance) section on both sides.

It featured chart hits of the time from JX (remember them?) Tin Tin Out, Tall Paul, Janet Jackson, Holly Johnson and the much missed music legend, Prince. There are also some pretty obscure artists on there too… Spaghetti Surfers? X-Avia? That timeless classic from Corky – ‘Doom Bung Bang’…? Nope, not ones I remember!

Check out the full tracklist here:

Ok – curiosity got the better of me and I had to YouTube that Corky track… it’s actually got a pretty driving beat, I can see why we included it in a Hi Impact release (my ears though!) For your listening pleasure, here you go:

THIS NEEDS TO BE RE-RELEASED!!!!!! This is one of my all time favourite releases (wasn’t too keen on CD 2) BUT CD 1 is a BELTER!!!!! Back when Hard House was in the CHARTS!!!! What has happened to music today?!! They DEFINITELY don’t make em like they used to!! I’ve still got it this CD and use it today – we need to bring harder, more bangin’ mixes back!! Nothing like bouncing around to some proper hard house to get you in a great big sweaty mess!!! Haha!! Love it!! 😀
